APOTHECARY ROSE
ROSA " GALLICA OFFICINALLIS "SPECIES
(UNKNOWN)

An ancient rose that gets it's name from it's use as
a medicine made from it's hips by apothecaries of
the  middle ages.
This low growing shrub rose has wonderful olive
green foliage and very small prickly thorns.
Growth is lax and sort of mounds into a 4' x 4'
bush.
Disease resistant, this rose can make a wonderful
low hedge as it suckers out freely making a dense
hedge smothered with magenta pink semi-double
blooms in early summer.
Winter hardy to zone 4.
