| Champlain Explorer/shrub(1982) A beautiful, very floriferous shrub rose released from Agriculture Canada's Explorer Series. Continually in bloom, Champlain grows only 2.5' x 2.5'. It's semi-double (30 petals) of velvety red will brighten up any garden. The blooms are 2.5" large and are born in clusters of up to 6. Foliage is glossy mid green and has good resistance to blackspot & mildew. Can winterkill to the crown in Zone 4 & below but is hardy to zone 3. Prune off deadwood & it will spring back in spring. Slightly fragrant. |
