| Below is a list of the late blooming perennials that we have in our show gardens of the farm. Some are for sale while others will be very shortly. All are very winter hardy, beautiful blooms, disease resistant and best of all they all bloom for the fall! |
Sedum Spectible (Upright, tall sedums) are a staple for the fall garden & the new purple leaf varieties are wonderful for all summer colour too! ‘Abbeydore’ The reddest sedum to hit the market! The compact plant is covered in late summer with bright pinkish red flowers. Very showy !!Ht: 45cm (18") "African Sunset" ‘Bertram Anderson’ A beautiful plant especially when used as an edger or in a container. The rounded fleshy purple leaves are topped with dusky pink flowers in late summer. Ht: 15cm (6") Black Jack ‘Xenox’ A compact dark foliage sedum. Emerges in spring with green and mauve foliage which darkens to burgundy in summer. Clusters of red velvet buds open to rose flowers. Ht: 51-61cm (20-24”) Tall Garden Phlox (phlox panitculata) zones 4 - 8 These were grown by our great grandmothers but the new varieties have been bred to be Mildew Resistant and some now grow much shorter . Phlox paniculata 'Little Boy' Description: Short and compact with huge flowerheads of lilac blue and a white center. Mildew resistant. Colour is a Lilac blue with a white center and wine eyezone. Blooms Late July-August Grows 20" - 24" and can spread just as wide if it likes where it's at. Phlox paniculata 'Purple Flame' ® ('Barfourteen') A new dwarf selection with dark purple flowers and a reddish-purple eye. Blooms late July to September. 12"-18" ht. spread 24" Phlox paniculata 'Laura' 'Laura' is very striking with it's unique shade of lavender-purple with a white star center. Laura is long blooming, mildew resistant and very popular! Blooms late July till early September Ht. 30" 24" spread |
