Henry Kelsey is one of the first hardy "red " climbers to be bred.
The deep red buds open into medium red, semi-double flowers
of 25 petals born in clusters. The clusters have between 9-18
flowers each. It has a light spicy fragrance to it. Semi-vigorous
plant sends out long, arching canes up to 7' long. Foliage is
healthy and medium green. Plant has good resistancy to
balckspot and excellent resistancy to mildew. Repeats well.
Hardy to zone 3 with little dieback !
