  • Long John is a fairly unknown climber/rambler that justly deserves more recognition. Bred by Horvaith from the hardy Prairie Rose, it was part of his Treasure Island climbers. This rose is very similiar to another rambler we carry of R. Setigera parentage "Baltimore Belle" The buds of Long John Siver are pointed with a touch of cream then open into double, cupped flowers of sivery white. Blooms are born in large clusters and are fragrant. Foliage is healthy and of a leathery, dull green colour. Bush is vigorous and can obtain 10'-12' within afew years. Requires to be taken down or protected in zone 5 & below to maintain cane length. In zone 4b can be grown as a ground cover quite successfully. Once blooming on old wood.
