This new lovely winter hardy rose was released by Agri-Food (formerly Agriculture Canada) for the 100th anniversary of our Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (Wrens) in 2010 A very beautiful, dark velvet red semi-double flowered rose with the colour somewhat like Agr.Cda 's "Hope for Humanity" Bud colour is very dark red, with open blooms (9-13 petals) a deep velvet red. Repeat in several flushes throughout the season. Foliage is dark green and resistant to blackspot with a very good resistance to mildew. Average height of 20" to 26" (50 to 65 cm).
