| Charles Albanel is one of the lesser publicized member of the Explorer Series of winter hardy roses. This is really too bad for it blooms all the time and is one of the few rugosas to always be in bloom. |
| Zone 2 Svjeda Agriculture Canada 1982 This lovely garden rose bush has double flowers have a bit of a reddish tinge to the flower that are born in clusters steadily all summer and fall. Nice coloured fall foliage of red and bronze. Blooms are fragrant but do nothave that strong rugosa fragrance. Charles is a low 3.5", dense bush that can spread to as wide as it is tall on it's own roots. As you can see from the pictures it makes a wonder low hedge. Very healthy and trouble free garden rose bush. Hardy to zone three with no dieback. |
